Napa Air Travel
Flying into San Francisco airport (SFO) is the most convenient way to get to the Napa Valley. The airport itself is recently modernized and the terminals offer good food and other services
Here's some tips for getting cheap or discounted air tickets to San Francisco:
- Shop around - different websites and agencies may have lower prices than others
- Be flexible about days of travel. Week days tend to be the busiest at SFO airport. If you can visit Napa on the weekend you'll likely get the cheapest rates on airfare, though weekends tend to be the busiest in the Napa Valley itself
- Be aware of what conventions and events are happening in San Francisco during your stay, a big convention can drive up prices
- Some online travel agents have package travel deals that include both airfare and hotel - especially in Napa, these deals can provide a big savings.
Getting to the Napa Valley: Napa and Sonoma are about one hour north of San Francisco by car.
If you plan to join a tour once you arrive in Napa, you may be able to arrange transport as part of your package. There are also airport shuttles that make scheduled runs from SFO to the Napa Valley.
If you want to drive yourself around the Napa Valley, it is easiest to pick up a rental car at the airport and drive yourself.
