Florence, Italy Travel Guide
Updated Spring 2004
Florence ("Firenze" in Italian) is a beautiful city. Because it's smaller
than Rome, you'll have an easier time wandering around the city and getting a sense of
what Italian life is like today and what it must have been like during the
renaissance.

How can get florence from Rome?

The train is the easiest. It's about 1.5 hours and best of all, you can spend that time chatting with Italians about their beautiful country. You can buy tickets ahead of time or the day of your trip at the train station. There are excellent automated machines in multiple languages.
Please advise what is the best way to travel from Venice to Florence and what is the distance?

Trains are a great way to get around Italy. I think the train between Florence and Venice is around 4 hours (via Bolognia, which is also a great destination). The train stations have wonderful multilingual automated ticket machines and there are frequent trains between the major cities.
