International Phone Calls from Hungary

All phones in Hungary are able to make both Domestic and Long Distance calls.

Phone cards are available at Post Offices (marked Magyar Posta). To make an international call:

  1. dial 00
  2. wait for a second dial tone
  3. dial the country code (01 for USA) area code and number.

If you prefer to charge the call to your credit card, the AT&T Direct access number from Hungary is 06-800-011-11. To make a call:

  1. Dial the access number
  2. Dial the country code, area code and number
  3. Dial your credit or calling card number

You may be able to find better phone rates by shopping around for phone cards before you go.
