Egypt Cairo Hotels
Updated July 2006
Hotels in Cairo range from budget hotels to very high end luxury hotels where you can live out your Egyptian fantasies.
Here is a list of my favorite hotels:
Cairo Nile Hilton
If you are staying a few days in Egypt, this hotel's central location -
close to the Egyptian museum is perfect. You'll be able to easily stroll
along the nearby Nile river and through the city streets while returning to your
room to wait out the heat of the day. The hotel has a nice breakfast
buffet. If you're able to splurge, the hotel's Egyptian suites are
beautiful. Ask for a room with a view of the Nile river.
Mena House Oberoi
If your main goal in Cairo is to see the pyramids, this luxury hotel - right
at the foot of the pyramids is a fantastic choice. Views are unmatched and
you'll awake every morning remembering exactly where you are. Ask for a
room with a view of the pyramids. If you're staying in central Cairo, this
is a great place for lunch when visiting the Pyramids.
The Windsor Hotel, Cairo
This budget hotel is a good bet if you want to save money. Staff is
friendly and rooms have historic charm.
Four Seasons, Cairo
This hotel offers everything you would expect from a Four Seasons property -
including a beautiful spa. The location is midway between the Pyramids and
the city center. Ask for a room with views of the Pyramids. Though this is
the most expensive hotel in Egypt, it's not bad by European and US standards.
We think it is worth the splurge.
